TEXT: 1 SAM. 17:34-37; REVELATION 12:11
INTRODUCTION
Many times we joke or take lightly the wonders of testimonies. God works through testimonies to do more for His children. When you testified to what He has done in your life in the past, you propel Him to do greater things. Testimonies are evidences/proofs of God’s faithfulness and intervention in the affairs of men. Every testimony you hear is a spiritual seed and a faith booster to the hearers. God is no respecter of persons (Rom. 2:11); whatever He’s done before for someone, He can do it again for anyone who desires it. Why Testimony?
1. They are meant to glorify God – Lk. 18:43 “Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.”
2. They are proofs of God’s presence in the midst of His people – Acts 2:22; Zeph. 3:17 KJV Acts 2:22 “Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know...:”
3. They encourage us and boost our confidence in God – Acts 27:22-25; 2 Tim. 4:17-18
4. Testimonies weaken our enemies – Josh. 2:9-11
5. They are prophetic and reproductive in nature – 1 Sam. 17:34-37
How To Engage The Arrow of Testimonies for Greater Things
1. Always acknowledge God’s past deeds in your life – John 11:41-42; 2 Chro. 20:7-12 KJV John 11:41-42
2. Never mock Testimonies. Believe and key into them – Luke 1:36-40
3. Be Inspired by The Testimonies of Others – Gen. 41:9-14
4. Always share your personal testimonies as occasion serve you (don’t keep it to yourself – Mark 5:18-20
